about me

Peter Ranallo

I am a seasoned pianist and keyboard player with a passion for creating music. Over the years, I have composed, arranged, and produced hundreds of songs. I own my own recording studio equipped to mix in Stereo and Dolby Atmos.

I specialize in all styles relating to pop. (Pop, pop-folk, pop-jazz, pop-classical…)

Although I love and listen to all styles of music, I don’t produce hip hop, rap, or heavy metal. There are tons of producers out there that do this way better than I can.

what do i do?

The title “producer” has changed and evolved over the years and can mean a lot of things. I don’t consider myself a “Beat-Maker”, although there is not a day that goes by where I don’t “build or make” a song. I like to call it arranging and producing. What I do is assist artists realize their vision and produce a final master, ready for commercial release.

Times have changed, and so has my role. Many artists are now recording at home and sometimes only need a producer to offer a second, unbiased opinion. Some are new to the recording process and are not sure of all the steps involved in producing and delivering a final master. Some artists need help on an elaborate production, where musicians and engineers need to be hired and guided, charts written, and so on.

If you are a record label or an Indie artist with releases under your belt, you know all this. If you are new to the record making process and have no idea where to begin, I can guide you.

Producing a final master involves playing of instruments, programming, engineering, and organization, but most of all, it requires a great song.

It is my humble opinion that before diving deep into the production process and spending money uselessly, it is very important to evaluate the strength of the song.

I like to record a simple demo, then listen back and evaluate the song’s strengths and weaknesses.

Can the structure be improved?

Can changing key bring out more emotion and help deliver a better vocal performance?

A simple demo strips the song of anything that might distract us from really evaluating the song.

Of course, this is all very subjective, and not suited for all genres. From experience, this most often helps.
